Island Discussion #25: Herbert’s Redemption

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to this week’s Island Discussion. Last week I hooked you through a very ancient tale of a dragon named Scorn. I hope you found it interesting. Conversely, this week, I will be talking about the future! Well, a possible future is the best way to describe it as I do not know for sure what the future holds for us. It has especially been very cloudy lately as a result from rumours of Project: Super Secret in the works. Anyway, it is time to revisit one of Club Penguin’s famous (and huggable) villains… Herbert P. Bear!

Speaking of a cloudy future, we know for sure that Herbert is on the loose after he luckily escaped the hands of the EPF back in November. If you do not know already, Herbert stole the power source from the UFO which has caused it to malfunction and therefore it cannot operate properly. Because of this, the EPF have kindly allowed this UFO to stay docked on Club Penguin until they are able to find a new power source to operate the UFO once again. Gary came up with the idea of going back in time to collect power fragments of old meteors that hit the island during the prehistoric times. So for the third time, the EPF used the Time Trekker 3000 so that everyone can travel back in time to obtain as many power fragments as possible. Gary’s solution? Ducktape. And lots of it.

The Prehistoric Party is still continuing currently so we are not finished yet. In a week (4th February) the aliens are scheduled to depart from the island after their long stay. By then, all of the power fragments would have been taped together to construct an alternate energy source for the UFO. So expect the cute little aliens to leave very soon. Then I guess that concludes Operation: Crustacean. Or does it?

If you were present when Operation: Crustacean hit the island, you may would have remembered the aim of the operation to start with. The EPF were actually assigned to rescue Klutzy from the alien abductions, hence the name of the operation. However we soon found that Herbert was up to mischief all along once he stole the power supply and escaped via the escape pod. The question is, was this planned? Was this a trick? One thing is for sure, though: Herbert is using that power source for something. But what?

We have not, yet, reached the conclusion of this operation. Even though we have managed to save the alien puffles, two of the EPF’s suspects at large are on the loose with a very powerful source that can be used for something very villainous. Whilst we have been helping the alien puffles, Herbert and Klutzy may have been working on something worrying and the EPF have not been able to locate them both. It is definitely concerning. I think that this was all planned since it just happens to be convenient for Herbert. Without the UFO, the EPF would have been able to stop Herbert and Klutzy as soon as they attempted their escape, but this time, we failed. It may be time to prepare for something frightening very soon…

Sharing Creativity

Hey everyone!

Today I have a Waddle Guide for you to read and I think it is an interesting topic which will, hopefully, inspire you to open your minds more. One of the best things about the Club Penguin team is that it allows such creativity to be noticed and showcased. For example, they offer everyone in the community to submit fan art for monthly ‘Featured Fan Art’ videos. There is also the legendary Club Penguin Times Newspaper which encourages talented penguins from around the community to submit in their own jokes, fan art and a question for Aunt Arctic. I find that the Club Penguin Times is another way to help people get involved and this is yet another method from the team. What does this tell us? It tells us that Club Penguin care about it’s community and try to find many way to value everyone the best they can.

Let’s think about more examples. There is the Penguin of the Week award that is given to one lucky penguin who was nominated by one or more of their friends. I think this one is special since it shows everyone how valuable friendship is and helps the community to appreciate things more such as helpful penguins who do something special in aid of someone else. Another example includes recognition for Club Penguin Blogs. I do believe that the team check out as many Blog as they can to receive feedback and to take in any notes on anything we blog about. This helps to motivate people (like me) to blog more to you and to still keep on producing posts that are fun.

If we think more about in-game, some great hobbies to help share your creativity would be music making with SoundStudio and Igloo Designing. SoundStudio is an amazing game that helps you make music by using sampled tracks that are pre-made. However the combinations can be different every time because you can do a lot with SoundStudio. After you finish recording some music that you are proud of, people can like it which shows peer support online. Everyone loves visiting the Dance Club – thanks to SoundStudio – because there are some awesome tunes out there for people to hear and dance to. I recommend using SoundStudio more often if you love music!

Igloo Designing was covered in my last Waddle Guide however I think it is worth stating again that igloos are there for personality and creativity. Igloos show visitors what your penguin is like and your igloo is your own piece of land on Club Penguin where you can go wild and create anything you like. Again, you can gain likes from igloo decorating which is something great to be more aware of as it makes you feel proud and more recognised in such a BIG community.

Island Discussion #18: Herbert Theory

Hello everyone!

Welcome back to a new Island Discussion this week. Today’s discussion will explore a background to Herbert P. Bear before he even arrived at Club Penguin. Every villain has a story and a reason. We found out why Tusk (Master of Snow) became enemies with Sensei and the Card Jitsu Saga helped us to re-live the story of their upbringing together. Ultimate Protobot 10K is another villain with intentions to assist Gary the Gadget Guy in his future inventions however surprisingly became one of Club Penguin’s dangerous villains after a malfunction in his creation.

Herbert does have a story that exists on this island only but we never seemed to grasp on to why Herbert has become a spiteful Polar Bear who wants to live in a Summer Paradise. I was thinking that maybe something happened to him before he was stranded on an iceberg. Maybe his family or friends caused betrayal and that lead him on a journey on his own.

You could always tell that Herbert was an isolated bear. Throughout the PSA missions, there was always a sense of doubt and the way he treats Klutzy in a controlling way hints that this could be as a result of his former life. People say that your actions can be influenced from others stronger than you and with more power however the power of that person prevents you from striking back. In other words, it is a bit like bullying except Herbert could have lived a life where his parents weren’t especially pleasant with him. It is a classic form of revenge and wanting to finally be the most powerful person you can ever be.

Club Herbert Update!

Good day agents!

It seems that Club Herbert has now been updated once again. This will help us get on with Operation: Find Herbert since we now know some extra details. Below is the visual report on clubherbert.com:

As you can see, Herbert P. Bear may now have finished his visit around Penguins on the island since it has been marked off on his new checklist. For some peculiar reason, Herbert has decided to frame a picture of his visits around the island. Specifically – the Mine Shack, Forest, Puffle Lodge and somewhere I have not yet been able to identify. I would like to see if you can make a link with any of these images since it may be significant to what Herbert may be planning right now.

If it helps, it was reported back to me that Herbert left his visits at the Puffle Wilds so this implies that he is based somewhere in the Wilderness of Club Penguins. The mountains are still possible as an option however it seems as if Herbert has returned to his usual cave somewhere in the Wilderness as we can tell from the walls and the same old door with the…crab flap?

Operation: Find Herbert

This is EPF agent Blue21102 reporting from the Elite Penguin Force Command Room. On behalf of the alliance, I would like to introduce every one of you agents to a top secret operation. Hopefully you have gained some skills from Spy Drills and the PSA Mission Training Program because what I am going to brief to you is some tough business and is required some sensibility and concentration.

Our mission is to track down Herbert P. Bear Esquire. This polar bear has made some unfortunate history on this island and his biggest heist was blowing up the PSA Headquarters with…Popcorn. Stay sharp agents! The evolution of the EPF began after the disbandment of the PSA and we can not fail our mission again! The EPF was created for skilful agents who have what it takes to eliminate any threats that invade this island and one of them is Herbert. Now, all of you should be capable of understanding what I am going to say next.

This top secret operation is called ‘Find Herbert’ and it may sound pretty simple but you have got to do even more than just reading in-between the lines to succeed in this operation. It is time to get practical! Every one of you – including me – is going to do some research on where Herbert may currently be hiding. Some top secret information has been leaked within the Club Penguin Times and on Spy Phone messages.

We do not know exactly where Herbert is located but we do know this:

We have been able to gather quite a bit information from handling a lot of experience with Herbert. Your first order is to examine this case file and establish all of his strengths and weaknesses. Please document your findings and report back in the comments below. I have been able to identify some of Herbert’s key characterisitcs in former Island Discussions however it takes more than one agent to conclude the evidence. If you can, go the extra mile and search the island for more evidence to back up this case file. For example, we found out that Herbert could not swim during ‘The Ultimate Mission’ so why not do some investigating on your own research? Please report back to me if you have identified anything new!

Recently we have been updated on where Herbert was last seen. This Island Rumour was leaked in the Club Penguin Times Issue #469. Please have a read:

We have some sort of confirmation that this is true from Jet Pack Guy, confirming that Klutzy was sighted entering a cave deep in the Wilderness. However nothing has been heard recently. Before going straight in with this operation, we need to do some recon. Try and explore the island and look for some clues which could tell us further news on Herbert’s location. We already have one case study up in the mountains. There seems to be a cave with no examination upon it so far. Keep looking and keep me informed if you have discovered anything.

This EPF message was sent to all agents on September 11th 2014. No reports on Klutzy or Herbert have been made since. Stay sharp!

Last of all we need some theories and some good eyes! Wherever you are on the island, look out for Herbert! We have had some recent reports which have confirmed that he is on the move and possibly up to something. Luckily we have some great trackers available around the Club Penguin Network so if anyone reports a Herbert sighting, go there with them on that server and back them up. It would be great for some video evidence so that we can keep track of what he is saying. I repeat, look out for Herbert around the island. This one you have got to support each other with. For some extra edge in your investigation, keep an eye on Club Herbert. This website suspiciously helps us EPF agents to gain an advantage to tracking down Herbert now and then.
